Veterans Park
This 6.3-acre Park features beautiful green areas, scenic views, big trees, and play equipment, and it is located at the corner of Torrence Boulevard and South Catalina Ave. Also found in the Park are the Veterans Park Senior Center and the Veterans Park Community Center.
The 4,172 square foot Veterans Park Senior Center features a lobby, main activity/dining room, restrooms, storage areas, kitchen, secondary activity room, and outdoor patio with shuffleboard courts. The Senior Center is used around 45 a week for senior activities.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Veterans Park Community Center (formerly Redondo Beach Main Library) is an 11,400-square-foot historic building constructed in 1930. This Community Center features an office, mezzanine, fully equipped catering kitchen, restrooms, grand ballroom//banquet room, meeting rooms, bridal room, elevator, and storage. This facility is currently unavailable while the City finds a vendor to manage it. The vendor will provide residents with art-focused gatherings, facility usage, and beautiful outdoor space.
Also located at Veterans Park, The Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial was created to design, conceptualize, and build the Memorial via private donations and fundraising efforts and hosts the Veterans Day and Redondo Beach Memorial ceremonies ever since. Visitors may purchase memorial bricks to honor their close to their hearts veterans. All proceeds from bricks are used for general maintenance and creating additional Memorial features.
