Sand Dune Park
Located 15 minutes from Lawndale, Sand Dune Park is a park on a steep hillside in beautiful Manhattan Beach. This popular city park is popular among locals with kids who love dunes. At the north of the park, you can find a 100-foot high slope that’s covered in seep sand where the little ones can climb, jump, roll, or run down, and near the sandy slopes, there’s a playground and other amenities like a picnic area, water fountains, and restrooms.
Sandy Dune Park received its name for its 100-foot-high dune, making it a favorite destination for kids of all ages. Switchbacks and steps that lead into nature are a trail providing different ways to reach the top. This trail winds through mesmerizing plant life and provides an exciting and educational nature walk. The top of the dune offers a stunning panoramic east-facing view of the City.
This fun three-acre park also has a small children’s playground fence with swings, climbing equipment, and a merry-go-round. Sandy Dune Park also has shaded picnic areas for about 20 people each, one open pavilion, and two picnic tables. Dogs can access the park but must be on a leash along the designated walking area.
