NYE in LA
Start planning your New Year’s Eve now, because the hottest events in LA book up fast. There’s the Candi Pop Dance Party featuring your favorite Top 40 hits from the 90s and early aughts. If you’re in the mood to ring in 2018 to the Spice Girls and NSYNC, this is where you’ll want to be. Entry is free before 10 p.m., or $10 after. You’ll be inundated with unicorns, lollipops and rainbows at this colorful fete at The Satellite.
Maybe Dream Disco at the gothic Theatre at Ace Hotel is more your speed. The big bash is a full-on disco where you’ll find complimentary drinks to get the party started. For those who arrive early, a three-course meal is optional followed by the open bar on stage. Traditional confetti-rich countdowns and champagne cocktails are part of the magic.
Out with the Old
For those who prefer a low-key celebration, the No Cover New Year’s at the Angel City Brewery is a favorite. Enjoy limited edition brews available just on the big night along with live entertainment. Raise your pints for a midnight toast, and head to the adjacent food trucks for some late night/early morning dining.
The W Hollywood New Year’s is one of the swankiest parties in town, and also lets you check out the downtown skyline from the rooftop. Inside, LED-lit walls provide the backdrop to caged dancers, and the DJs are some of the best in the industry. House music throbs through the party, or you can always tuck away into one of the cabanas on the wetdeck for an intimate ringing in of the New Year.
