Hermosa Beach Pier
1 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, USA
The Hermosa Beach Pier extends over 1,100 feet from the Strand toward the scenic Pacific Ocean. The pier structure was built in 1964 and renovated in the early 2000s. To ensure the Hermosa Beach Pier remains an enjoyable and safe place for all, there are rules that need to be followed; for example, while fishing is allowed, California Fish and Wildlife rules must be followed. The Hermosa Beach Pier’s rules are not hard to follow, but every visitor must follow them. Some of the rules are:
- Dogs are not allowed
- Alcohol and smoking are prohibited
- Skate, skateboard, and scooters are not permitted on the Pier
- No diving or jumping off of the Pier
- Swim and surfing are allowed as long as you keep at least 100 feet from the Pier
Hermosa Beach has around 2 miles of ocean frontage with over 90 acres of public beach. The city’s beach is considered one of the most popular beaches in the Los Angeles County area due to the excellent surf and swimming arenas and numerous volleyball nets along the sand. Metered street parking is available, and some of the Hermosa Beach Pier’s amenities include restrooms, showers, playground equipment, and nearby restaurants.
The Pier allows visitors to walk over Santa Monica Bay and look back at the LA area. The Manhattan Beach Pier can be seen north of the Pier, and the King Harbor in Redondo Beach to the south. At the Hermosa Beach Pier entrance, there are restaurants and shops of all types in the Pier Plaza (a pedestrian-only area). Much more business lines on Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue in this unique, beautiful, small beachfront city.
